I am British by birth, but I currently live in the Middle East - Abu Dhabi in the UAE. There have been many trials and tribulations along the way in my life, including a kidney transplant and surviving breast cancer. Whilst I would not wish serious illness on anyone at all......for me it has made me both very strong and very appreciative of my life and yes of the good things in life wherever they are, be they a smile and a hug from my kids to a fantastic new lipstick which makes me feel confident!
I am not a total novice, having attended modelling school at the age of 15 (not that you would know it now ha ha!!) where the fantastic Jane Shingler introduced me to Estee Lauder and how to match a foundation, amongst lots of other beauty tricks! I also sold Oriflame products for a while and did lots of wedding and special occasion make up back in the late 1980's and early 1990's - so I am ever hopeful of a return to bright purple eyeshadow....... (with my tongue firmly in my cheek of course!)

There are lots of beauty and style blogs out there but I hope that this one will be just a little different - I will try lots of those 'anti-aging' products and see if their claims are true, I will look to see what is on trend and flattering to an older style - but most of all I really want to have fun with beauty products, stylish outfits and really anything which takes my fancy and which I hope takes yours too.
